Research and Development Facility (DOE)
                    West Virginia
GEO has performed multiple phases of work at this site that included installation of groundwater monitoring wells (20 each from 20 feet to 295 feet), abandonment of groundwater monitoring wells (24 each at 2 inches and 4 inches), and soil boring and sampling (20 each). All wells were contructed of 2 inch or 4 inch wire-wrapped PVC screen or schedule 80 PVC. Wells were installed using multiple drilling methods including cable tool drilling (in unconsolidated overburden of flowing sand), hollow stem auger (for shallow wells), ar hammer (to 295 feet), mud rotary, air rotary, and rock coring (completed 300 feet of NQWL coring). Soil samples were collected in the unconsolidated overburden using split spoon sampling techniques. Bedrock wells were double cased using 8 inch steel casing in the overburden and 4 inch PVC into the bedrock.
